So how does a wine get selected for in-flight service?

In the February issue of US Airways Magazine the complex process of selecting a wine is examined.  From the initial bid through the boarding process is detailed.  “The airline sets guidelines and expectations – including price, volume needed, and number of varieties – for the onboard wines.  Intervine, based in Napa, then uses these guidelines to select samples for the airline.”
